Description: Creating solid hospital/physician relations has become increasingly challenging in light of ever-changing regulations and restrictions, along with a shortage of physicians in the cardiac and vascular specialties. And, the new generation of physicians is more likely to seek hospital employment or other partnership models rather than the traditional career path of private practice. The implication of this paradigm shift is clear: hospitals and physicians are at a loss for how to work together in a way that satisfies the hospital's need for physician talent and the physician's need for security and lifestyle balance. As a result, hospitals need to re-evaluate options and be more willing to consider alternative methods for securing physician engagement. This session will discuss current trends a new and creative ways to align physician and hospital goals and objectives though The Physician Enterprise. A case study will explore the current situation in the industry, projected future changes, and key steps that must occur when exploring any solution to bring true integration of a hospital and its doctors
